12 Ton Capacity Hydraulic Hand Pump With Gauge - User Manual & Troubleshooting

User Manual - Hydraulic Hand Pump with gauge (dp-cp590g)

Specification:

- Capacity: 12 Ton
- Coupler: NPT 1/4" Male Included
- Max Pressure: 9500 PSI ( 63Mpa )
- Gross Weight: 8.2kg / 18Lbs
- Length of Hose: 330mm / 13"
- Dimension of Package: 720 x 240 x 230mm / 6.7" x 9.5" x 9"
- Dimension of Pump: 630 x 155 x 170mm / 24.8" x 6.1" x 6.7"

* The hydraulic hand pump included NPT 1/4" coupler is capable of connecting to our 10 & 12-ton rosin press directly. However, It is unable to hook our 20-ton rosin press (It included a NPT 3/8" female fitting on cylinder ) directly.

Calculations on Pressure Applied:

1 - 10-ton heat press (dp-hr10t35dp-hr10t35v):
- 2.25 x PSI reading on Gauge = Total Force Delivered
- Total Force Delivered / Puck Surface Area (sq/in) = PSI on the material

2 - 12-ton heat press (dp-hr12t47):
- 2.75 x PSI reading on Gauge = Total Force Delivered
- Total Force Delivered / Puck Surface Area (sq/in) = PSI on the material

* If Pairing to your own hydraulic cylinder, please contact the cylinder  manufacturer to obtain the Cylinder's Effective Area to accurately measure the pressure delivered.

How to pair it with a hydraulic heat press machine?

Tips: you can also watch a video to learn how to match a rosin press from the video.

1. Place the hydraulic hand pump on the work table with the end of the hose hanging off the edge of the table so it is lower than the pump itself.
2. Open the release valve on the front right of the pump, one full turn, and leave it open for 5 minutes ( recommended ).
3. After 5 minutes, close the release valve on the front right of the hand pump until it's tight.
4. Open the vent plug on the rear of the pump, below where your hand grips on the handle, open it and leave it open for 30 seconds.
5. Close the vent plug on the rear of the pump until it's fully tightened.
6. Connect the hydraulic hand pump to the cylinder until the couplers are fully hand tightened.
7. Pump handle up and down to increase hydraulic pressure as needed to operate the equipment.

Important Notices!

The pressure gauge is only partially filled with glycerine to properly dampen the pointer.
Maximum pressure delivered 9500 PSI (63 MPa).
Always wear eye protection.
Always use the dust cap when disconnected from the hydraulic cylinder to prevent dust and debris from damaging the pump.
Only use anti-foaming hydraulic jack oil in the hydraulic hand pump.
Follow the hydraulic hand pump owner's manual for regular maintenance.

Questions & Answers:

Question: Could I change the pressure gauge installed in the hydraulic hand pump?
Answer: No, since this is a proprietary gauge for use on this model hydraulic hand pump.  A secondary gauge can be installed in between the hydraulic hand pump and the hose using our Gauge Kit dp-gk35v

Question: Is it normal that I lose pressure on the gauge during my pressing time?
Answer: Yes this is normal for the pressure to drop as the essential oils flow.  We suggest slowly applying pressure to regain your desired pressure on the gauge.

Question: Is it normal for fluid to leak when I disconnect the hydraulic hand pump from the cylinder?Answer: Yes, usually a few drops will leak out as the couplers detach.  We suggest keeping a paper towel underneath the couplers to catch any oil that may fall.

Question: How do I add more hydraulic jack oil to my pump?
Answer: Since the pump is already filled at the factory, it is only recommended to change out the fluid as per the owner's manual recommendation.  Please review it before adding oil to the pump.

Question: How to calculate the actual PSI on my material?
Answer:
(1) for 10-ton cylinder ( dp-hr10t35 & dp-hr10t35v ) – 2.25 x PSI on the gauge = Total Force Delivered; Total Force Delivered / Surface Area of Material (sq/in) = PSI at the material;
(2) for 12-ton cylinder ( dp-hr12t47 ) – 2.75 x PSI on the gauge = Total Force Delivered; Total Force Delivered / Surface Area of Material (sq/in) = PSI at the material

Question: How much PSI should I use on my material?
Answer:
(1)for flowers - the suggested range is between 800-1200 PSI for the material.
(2)for fine material – the suggested range is between 400-600 PSI at the material.

Question: Can I use less than 10000 PSI-rated equipment to pair to the hydraulic hand pump?
Answer: No, you should only pair hydraulic equipment to your heat press machine which is rated at 10000 PSI operating capacity or higher.

Troubleshooting:

1 - The hydraulic pump will not hold pressure?

- Bleed the hydraulic pump of air through the valve.
Insure both the release valve and the bleed valve are tightly closed.
Ensure the quick couplers are fully hand-tightened together.
You may need to replace the stainless steel ball-bearing inside of the release valve. * Please review our video information on how to complete it.
