We often see videos from industry experts showing pressure gauges being added, and some competitors even offer bottle jack styled rosin presses with pressure gauges. However, the main reason lies in the design of most bottle jacks on the market today. These jacks typically use rubber seals to contain the hydraulic fluid. If there are metal shavings or other contaminants in the cylinder, it can easily cause the seals to fail. While we have implemented various methods to filter the hydraulic fluid, allowing the installation of a pressure gauge would increase the risk of oil leakage.

Additionally, many manufacturers use substandard plastic or other flexible hoses to connect the pressure gauge to the bottle jack during installation. Even if the pressure can be read, the readings are often highly inaccurate.

In conclusion, rather than risking oil leaks or providing inaccurate pressure readings, we choose not to install pressure gauges. Instead, we recommend customers use a hydraulic pump rosin press, which provides much more accurate pressure readings.
